Shunfeng Bio and NONGKEYU partner on functional fresh corn

On 25 September, Shandong Shunfeng Biotechnology Co. Ltd. (“Shunfeng Bio”) and Shenzhen NONGKEYU Seed Co. Ltd. (“NONGKEYU”) formally signed a cooperation agreement on a functional nutritional fresh-corn project.

The move marks that two industry leaders will jointly close the last mile from lab to table, commercialize high-nutrition corn varieties, and inject scientific momentum into healthier diets. Academician Zhu Jiankang, chief expert adviser to Shunfeng Bio; Xu Qun, General Manager of Shunfeng Bio; NONGKEYU Chairman Lai Bailin; and NONGKEYU partner Jiang Xiaohui attended and signed.

In 2025, Shunfeng’s all-methods precision molecular breeding platform was fully built—integrating hybrid, space, mutation and CRISPR breeding. Before the signing, Academician Zhu Jiankang gave a forward-looking talk on the latest breakthroughs and trends in biotech breeding, outlined broad prospects, and congratulated the partnership. At the signing, Xu Qun said: “In 2025 Shunfeng Bio set a grand health strategy. Our goal is to create more high-nutrition, high-value products through strong R&D, enrich household tables and build a Great Wall of Health. Deep cooperation with NONGKEYU is a key step in delivering that strategy. We hope R&D results will soon move from the lab to family tables and realize true market and social value.”
