NONGKEYU core-partner summit in Pinggu links research, trade and seed

On 25 August, the 2026 NONGKEYU Group Core Partner Marketing Summit was held on the 3rd floor of Wanda Jinhua Hotel in Pinggu. Invited guests from government, research and industry, strategic partners and NONGKEYU gathered to explore seed innovation paths and fresh-corn industry upgrading, advancing the deep integration of seed science and rural revitalization.

Attendees included Pinggu District Deputy Mayor Peng Shi, who delivered remarks; Guo Yunfei, Party Secretary of Yukou Town; Fu Chunhua, Deputy Party Secretary and Mayor of Yukou Town; Zhao Jiuran, Director and Research Fellow of the Corn Research Center, Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences; Shi Yaxing, Research Fellow of the Corn Research Institute, BAAFS; and NONGKEYU Chairman Lai Bailin, who gave keynote shares. Fifty-six core NONGKEYU distributors from across China also took part.

The distributor meeting focused on fresh-corn market expansion, variety promotion and industrial cooperation. Beijing Huaao NONGKEYU showcased breeding results: 56 approved quality corn varieties including Nongke Nuo 336, with ample germplasm reserves and faster industrialization of elite varieties. Fifty-two cooperation agreements were signed; leading agribusinesses such as Zhuohao Agricultural Science & Technology (Group) Co. Ltd. and Sichuan Haimai Seed Co. Ltd. held on-site business talks, smoothing producer–buyer channels and extending, completing and strengthening the fresh-corn chain—supporting high-quality modern agriculture in Pinggu.

The meeting noted that 2026 marks the 105th anniversary of the Communist Party of China and the start of the 15th Five-Year Plan. Anchored as a major agricultural district of the capital, Pinggu shoulders the mission of being the main battlefield of Agricultural Zhongguancun and serving national agri-tech self-reliance. It is building a “one port, two wings, three towns, all-scene” development pattern, cultivating new agricultural productive forces, deepening the “government + research institute + enterprise” golden-triangle model, clustering research platforms and high-level talent, leveraging corn-seed strengths to create a Corn Grand View science scene, breeding more than 250 quality varieties including Nongke Nuo 336, hosting the permanent venue of the China Fresh Corn Conference in Yukou, and planning a full-chain factor centre for fresh corn—connecting seed R&D to field application. It is also strengthening food-nutrition and logistics platforms and improving talent, housing, transport, education and healthcare for a livable, business-friendly innovation environment.

The meeting called for using the summit as a link to deepen multi-party coordination and fully release Agricultural Zhongguancun’s clustering effect. Focus on fresh-corn seed innovation across breeding, technical breakthroughs, commercialization and marketing; amplify Yukou’s seed resources; and polish Pinggu’s seed-innovation brand. Further improve industry services to attract more seed leaders and quality market players to root in Pinggu, jointly build a new highland for specialty agriculture, turn summit outcomes into real rural-revitalization results, and contribute seed-industry strength to high-quality development of the capital in the new era.

Participants fully exchanged experience and ideas on fresh-corn variety R&D, commercialization, brand expansion and value-chain collaboration.
